Melalui rilis yang diterima Trilogi, Selasa malam 9 Maret 2021, Gubernur terpilih Rusdi Mastura, memprotes atas kebijakan yang telah dilakukan oleh Longki Djanggola dengan melantik sejumlah pejabat eselon di masa tenggang.
“Aturan itu tegas, agar tidak ada aspek penyalahgunaan kekuasaan karena sebuah tendensi politik,” Tulis Cudi, panggilan akrabnya.

Menurutnya, surat edaran Mendagri tahun 2020 pasal 71 Ayat 2 berbunyi larangan tegas, bahwa Gubernur atau Wakil Gubernur, Bupati atau Wakil Bupati, dan Walikota atau Wakil Walikota dilarang melakukan penggantian pejabat enam bulan sebelum tanggal penetapan pasangan calon sampai dengan akhir masa jabatan kecuali meninggal dunia atau mendapat persetujuan tertulis dari Mendagri.
