Ribuan mahasiswa yang mengatasnamakan Aliansi Mahasiswa Kota Palu, terlibat bentrok dengan pihak kepolisian, saat melakukan aksi demou meminta Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja dibatalkan.
Aksi tersebut dilaksanakan, di Kantor Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah (Sulteng), di Jalan Samratulangi, Kota Palu, Kamis 08 Oktober 2020.
Bentrokan itu bermula dengan aksi dorong antara mahasiswa dengan polisi, yang menahan mahasiswa masuk ke Gedung DPRD Sulteng. Beberapa saat memanas, Polisi akhirnya meletupkan gas air mata ke arah mahasiwa.
Pantauan media ini, sejumlah mahasiswa berhasil diamankan pihak kepolisian.
Aksi tersebut menuntut agar pemerintah mencabut UU Cipta Kerja, yang telah disahkan oleh Pemerintah dan DPR RI. Karena UU Cipta Kerja dianggap tidak memihak kepada rakyat.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, suasana di Jalan Samratulangi Palu belum kondusif. Jumlah pasti mahasiswa dan polisi yang terluka juga belum terkonfirmasi.
